PhD Researcher · Energy Transition · Machine Learning
I am a PhD researcher at the Institute of Data, Energy, and Sustainability in Mathematics at the Vienna University of Economics and Business, supervised by Kavita Surana. I apply Bayesian inference and machine-learning models to analyze how independent power producers and electric utilities adapt to the energy transition.
Previously, I obtained an M.Sc. in Economics from the University of Cologne and Durham University and a B.A. in Mathematics & Philosophy from TU Braunschweig, where I was a scholar of the German Academic Scholarship Foundation.
My broader academic interests lie in the areas of complex systems, climate change AI, technological forecasting, and Bayesian econometrics. Outside academia I have worked as a data analyst at Daimler AG. When I’m not coding in Python or R, I mentor first-generation students and play tennis.
